Typhoon Destroys Call And Data Centers

Damage from the typhoon that hit the Philippines is still echoing around the world.

Haiyan killed thousands of people and destroyed homes as well as coconut plantations that had been around for generations, but it also smashed customer service and data centers depended on by companies all over the globe.

Most of the workload has been diverted to other Philippine cities, but that doesn't help the thousands of workers who now have to either move away from their families or stick around for jobs that may not return for a year or more.

Power hasn't even been restored to many of these areas yet; authorities say maybe they'll get the lights on next month.
