The End Of Antibiotics May Be Near

We have reached "the end of antibiotics, period."

The Associate Director at the Centers for Disease Control says for a long time there have been media stories about how antibiotics have been becoming less and less effective the more we use them, but now we are in what he calls the "post-antibiotic era" because their effectiveness has come to an end.

Dr. Arjun Srinivasan says there are now patients with infections that could have been treated five years ago, but today, no antibiotics can help. He says we're seeing the rise of whole new strains of superbugs that are resistant to all forms of medication.
