Condition Of Teacher Shot At LAX Upgraded To

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A Calabasas High School performing arts teacher who  was wounded in the shooting at Los Angeles International Airport was upgraded  today to good condition, although he will need an additional surgery on a  broken leg.

Brian Ludmer, 29, was among those injured during Friday's shooting in  Terminal 3 of the airport. He has been hospitalized at Ronald Reagan UCLA  Medical Center ever since.

According to a statement from the hospital, Ludmer will need at least  one additional surgery for a ``leg fractured by a bullet wound, along with  extensive physical therapy.''

School and district officials said Ludmer crawled into a closet after he  was shot. He was found by a police officer a short time later and taken to  the hospital.

Calabasas High School principal C.J. Foss says that she  met with the wounded teacher over the weekend.

``He is nervous about what's going to happen with his disability,'' Foss  said. ``He isn't sure, so were looking into all of that and trying to figure  out what we can do to help him.''

Ludmer has worked at the school for about a year and a half.
