Anxiety Can Lead To Strokes

New research says anxiety can cause strokes.

Stress and depression have been known to be risk factors in stroke, but the first-ever study to take a look at anxiety's influence alone shows just how much a risk anxiety is.

Psychiatric researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine say people with the highest levels of anxiety had a 33 percent greater chance of having a stroke in the future than those with the least levels.

Stroke is the fourth-leading cause of death and a leading cause of disability in America. The CDC says almost 800,000 people in the U.S. have strokes each year, and 130,000 die from it.
