SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say 17 people were arrested and nearly 2,000 marijuana plants were seized when sheriff's deputies served search warrants in San Bernardino County.
The Los Angeles Times reports 110 pounds of processed marijuana wasconfiscated when the six warrants were served Wednesday in Landers and Yucca Valley.
At least 1,900 plants were seized.
Investigators say at one site, 378 plants up to 5 feet tall were growing on a one-and-a-half acre plot.
Sheriff's officials said in a statement that the amount of pot seized was "not consistent with personal use and suggests the suspects had no intention abiding to the state's medical marijuana laws."
